Comment: Dihydrotestosterone is an androgenic metabolite of testosterone, it is the primary contributing factor in male pattern baldness.
![]() Ligand Activity Visualisation ChartsThese are box plot that provide a unique visualisation, summarising all the activity data for a ligand taken from ChEMBL and GtoPdb across multiple targets and species. Click on a plot to see the median, interquartile range, low and high data points. A value of zero indicates that no data are available. A separate chart is created for each target, and where possible the algorithm tries to merge ChEMBL and GtoPdb targets by matching them on name and UniProt accession, for each available species. However, please note that inconsistency in naming of targets may lead to data for the same target being reported across multiple charts. ✖![]() View more information in the IUPHAR Pharmacology Education Project: dihydrotestosterone |

ADGRD1 | ADGRD1 a Gs protein-coupled receptor [3,11]. 5-α-dihydrotestosterone regulates skeletal muscle strength through the receptor. The same study establishes the small molecule agonist AP503 as an ADGRD1 specific and Gs-biased agonist [20]. Couples also to Gi proteins [12]. Strong association with body height [7-8,18] and bone mineral density [16]. Regulates oviductal fluid flow in mice [2]. The cryo-EM structure of the 7-helix transmembrane domain with its intramolecular agonist has been determined [14-15]. Expressed in the CNS [19], gastric antrum [6], thymus and adrenal glands [4], and intestinal epithelium [9]. ADGRD1 is highly expressed in glioblastoma [1]. Candidate SNP in lipid profiling [10] and SNP affecting electrocardiographic RR and QT interval [13] |
